By Alejandro Bustos. CLOTHING This makes it easier for you to make a decision as to which of your own clothing items you should ideally avoid: Pantyhose, Non-cotton underwear, tight jeans, leotards and damp clothing.
WET SWIMSUITS By keeping your wet swimsuit on you're giving the little yeast cells that are already working overtime, more cause for celebration.
Since your suit is damp it will interact with your natural body heat and create the perfect place for yeast bacteria to grow, thrive and flourish.
FOOD From the list below you can make your own decisions concerning food and which ones you should eat and which ones you should avoid.
The general idea is given and since most of it depends on your lifestyle and your living habits the choice really is in your hands: Refined foods, carbohydrates, sugary or sweet foods, red meats, alcohol, fermented products, mushrooms, yeast containing products.
ANTIBIOTICS The use of antibiotics might lead you to suffer from a bacterial vaginitis. It doesn't matter if you have only taken them once or twice, there's a good chance that they will disrupt the natural balance of your body.
Likewise, if you've been using antibiotics regularly for some time now, then there's an even better chance that your body will have an imbalance.
DOUCHES In short though let me just say that douching regularly for purely hygienic reasons is not good for you.
Douching is something that you should avoid even if you don't suffer from bacterial vaginitis.
For one thing it could lead you to have yeast infection, and for another thing the vagina is a self cleaning organ and by douching regularly you're destroying the natural balance of the vagina.
BATHS Lounging in a bath is something that you should avoid entirely when you have a bacterial vaginitis.
In which case, having a bath is alright but follow directions, and try not to let the temptation overcome you and have a proper bath!
SCENTED FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS So on your - longish - list of things to avoid, I would put down any scented pads, tampons, panty liners, deodorants and sprays.
You might also want to make a note to yourself not buy these even when your yeast infection has cleared up. The last thing that you will want to do is bring it back again.
